Here we are, this friday 12 june, at 15H00, the official results of the 3 tasks, to determinate the 8 qualified paramotors pilots are done.

We ran 3 tasks, where the agility of the pilot, and the speed of the wing are the master words.

-Basket ball slalom:

We have to take a ball in between our 2 feets, make a 3 pylons slalom, drop the ball in a basket, reslalom, and do it a second time, before to stop the chrono by kicking a stick. If you do not get the ball, pénalty; if you drop the ball out of the basket, pénalty.

I win this task, thanks to the speed of my viper size 15 meters!

Laurent is second, with his viper 18. Alex is there also, with his viper 20. The first day, he was first on this task, unfortunattly cancelled (4 pilots couldnt do it in safe météo conditions, organisation decided to do it again). Stefaan Michils, the belgium champion does very well also, viper 2 24.

-Clover leaf:

The famous “spanish slalom”, but here, we have to go far away out, not to crash in the huge pylons.

Kick, turnaround, kick, turnaround, in the aim to make a “clover leaf” draw.

The 3 vipers takes the 3 top places of the task, the amazing Polish pilots are very close, they are fast, and very trained!

-Dragon tail chase:

In this task, throw a ribbon (begins the stopwatch) and catch it with the body (stops the chrono). a “spot landing” is also added, and gives time penaltys in case of touch before, or after it. I have a penalty, being sure that i’m not wrong… But, that’s also sometimes sport, to say nothing, when you know that judges are wrong. Any glasses brand wants to sponsor a FAI juge?

Alex is really awsome pilot, only 17 years old, and he’s still here, winning this one!

Laurent makes a mistake, but he had so many time advance, that he will stay for the final!

Also a very good performance from our Chineese pilot representant, Mingji WANG, with a viper 2 24.

I can tell you that the fight will be bloody this evening, specially with the polish guys, who are in theirs preferes task, and very good at it.

Le Team Vipers qualifié pour la super finale des World Air Games!!!

Nous y voici!!! Ce vendredi 12 juin, à 15H00, les résultats officiels des 3 manches qualificatives des jeux mondiaux (World Air Games) sont arrivés. Nous sommes donc 8 finalistes, sur les 22 pilotes initialement prévus.

Nous avons couru 3 manches, ou l’agilité et la vitesse étaient les maîtres mots.

-Basket ball slalom:

Nous devons prendre entre les 2 jambes un ballon, faire un slalom entre les pylônes, lâcher le ballon dans un panier, refaire le slalom, et recommencer tout ceci dans la foulée une seconde fois, avant de venir arrêter le chrono avec un piquet. Si on ne rattrape pas le ballon, pénalité; si le ballon est lâché hors du panier, pénalité.

Je gagne cette première manche, merci à la vitesse de ma viper 15 mètres carré.

Laurent est second, avec sa viper 18. Alex est présent également, avec sa viper 20. Le premier jour, il était premier sur cette même manche, qui a malheureusement été annulée (4 pilotes n’ont pas pu voler dans des bonnes conditions MTO, l’organisation a donc décidé de l’annuler). Stefaan Michils, le champion Belge, fait également une très belle perf avec sa viper 2 24.

-Clover leaf:

La fameuse “mania espagnole” ou “trèfle”, mais ici, on dois contourner les pylônes loin à l’extérieur, sous peine de venir “embrasser” ceux cis.

Touche, coutourne, touche, contourne, pour “dessiner” un trèfle.

Les 3 vipers prennent les 3 premières places, les très bons pilotes Polonais sont très proche, ils sont rapides, et très entraînés.

-Dragon tail chase:

Sur cette manche, on dois jeter un ruban en vol (le chrono démarre) et le rattraper avec le corps (le chrono s’arrête). Une précision d’atterrissage en flare suis le ruban, et donne des pénalité si on touche avant, ou après. J’ai une pénalité, alors que je suis sûr de ne pas avoir touché le sol avant…. Mais, c’est cela aussi le sport, savoir accepter les erreurs de jugement. Y a t ‘il des fabricants de lunettes qui aimeraient sponsoriser un juge FAI?

Alex est vraiment impressionnant! Du haut de ses 17 ans, il gagne la manche. Certains disent qu’Alex va nous “manger” dans les années à venir, je pense que c’est déjà le cas.

Laurent fais une erreur, mais il avait tellement d’avance, qu’il reste pour la finale.

Mingji WANG, le représentant ozone Chinois, fais également un très joli score, avec sa viper 2 24.

Je peut vous dire que le combat va être féroce ce soir, et plus particulièrement avec les Polonais, et les Tchèques, qui sont ici sur leurs manches favorites.
