Nous l’avons fait!!!!

Une superbe bataille à eu lieu ce vendredi 12 au soir sur l’aérodrome de Collegno, à Turin.

Il s’agissait de départager les 3 vainqueurs, des 8 derniers qualifiés, sur les 22 pilotes sélectionnés partout dans le monde depuis 10 mois. Cette finale est importante, il s’agit des World Air Games, qui ont lieu tous les 4 ans, et qui sont assimilés aux Jeux Olympiques de l’air. Cet événement est peut être encore plus important qu’un championnat du monde, et à l’avantage d’être super médiatisé, pour une fois, dans le sens sportif du terme.

Nous voici donc les 8 finalistes à courir en 1/4, 1/2, puis finale!

1/4 de finale:

Je commence contre Frantisek Salava, qui a une 16 metres carrés, le fight est dur, mais je remporte le duel.

Laurent se bat contre le Belge Cris, il l’emporte.

Alex prends la victoire contre le célèbre Américain Jeff Goin

Piotr et Tomek se battent entre Polonais, Piotr l’emporte, car son concurrent fais une erreur.

1/2 finale:

Je suis heureux de me battre en duel contre Piotr, malheureusement, une erreur de trajectoire le fais se crasher en virage… Quelques courbatures, mais pas de casse. Je reste donc en lice pour la finale.

Laurent et Alex nous font certainement le plus beau spectacle de toute la semaine… Alex en Viper 20, et Laurent en Viper 18. Nous pouvons voir qu’alex a un avantage certain dans les virages, mais Laurent remonte à chaque ligne droite. Le duel est trés serré, et très prenant! Laurent l’emporte, avec seulement 2 dixièmes avant Alexandre. Le duel était magnifique, une minute exceptionnelle, qui restera gravée dans les mémoires des pilotes présents. Chapeau les gars.

Wow!!!

Je combat contre Laurent Salinas…. La semaine dèrnière, déjà, nous étions en course aux championnats de France pour le titre, et nous revoici à fighter sur une mania. Quel plaisir! Cela fait 10 ans que nous rêvons d’être sur un podium ensemble, et quoi qu’il arrive, nous serons Alex, Laurent et moi même sur les 3 marches (nous ne connaissons pas encore l’ordre)

Laurent fait un meilleur départ, je le rattrape difficilement en détrimmant a fond; je sais qu’il est chargé comme “une mule” et qu’il actionne en permanence trimms, et accélérateur. Je joue à fond sur les trajectoires, et essaie de passer le plus proche possible des pylônes. A chaque tour, je jette un oeil sur son parcours, et nous sommes très très proches! Sur le dernier tour, je note une petite avance de ma part, et tape la dernière quille avec 2 ou 3 secondes d’avance!!! Une vidéo de la finale ici

Ca y est, une année de tests avec cette mini voile de 15 mètres carrés, et me voici Champion des WAG…

Je suis super fier d’être sur le podium une fois de plus avec Laurent, et le tit’Alex, qui a botté le c… des 22 meilleurs mondiaux!

Je suis également fier d’avoir pu participer, en tant que pilote, à la famille de l’air de la FAI. Nous montrons ici au grand public que le paramoteur peut être incisif, rapide, précis… Et donne une haute image des voilures souples.

Il est temps pour nous de replier le matériel; direction l’Angleterre la semaine prochaine, pour une compétition qui s’annonce riche en sport!

We did it!!!!`

A superb fight has been done this friday 12 june evening on the Collegno Airfield, Torino.

It was time to compete for the 3 firsts places, within the 8 qualified pilots, within the 22 selected everywhere in the world since 10 monthes. This Final is important, we’re talking here about the World Air Games, who runs only all the 4 years, and they are assimilated to the Olympic Games of the air. This event is maybe more important than a world championship, and has the advantage to be super mediatised, for one time, in a sportive way.

So we are the 8 lasts pilots, to run for a 1/4, 1/2, then final!

1/4  final:

I begin against Frantisek Salava, who has a 16 meters square. The fight is hard, but i can manage to win the duel.

Laurent is fighting againstthe Belgium guy Cris Slaabinck, Lolo wins.

Alex takes the victory against the famous American Jeff Goin.

Piotr and Tomek are fighting in Polish guys; Piotr wins, because his concurrent makes a mistake.

1/2 final:

I’m happy to get a duel against Piotr the Polish; unfortunnatly, an error of trajectory makes him crash in a turn…. A bit painfull, but nothing serious, uffff. At that point, i’m still here for the final.

Laurent and Alex are now making the best show of the week… Alex with his viper 20, and Laurent with his viper 18. We can se Alex has an advantage in the turns, but Laurent comes back on him each time in the staraight lines. The duel is very tight, and very emotional! Laurent wins, with only 2/10 of seconds before Alexandre. The duel was awsome; an amazing minute, which all the pilot here this day, will remember. Welllllll done dudes!

Wow!!!

I fight against Laurent Salinas… The week before, w were already fighting for the first place at the French Nationals, and here we are again to fight on a mania… That’s a real pleasure! This now 10 years taht we dream to be both on a podium, and now, whatever arrives, we’ll be for sure Alex, Laurent and myself on the 3 steps. (but we do not know yet the order)

Laurent makes a better take off than me, i come back to him quite difficultly, trimming out maximum; i know he’s overweighted, and that he’s permanently using trimms, and speed bar. I try to have the best trajectorys, and try to turn as close as i can of the pylons. At each turns, i have a look at him, and we are very, very close! On the last turn, i can notice a small advance from me, and i kick the last stick with a 2 or 3 seconds of advance!!!!! A video of the final here.

Here it is, a year of tests with that small 15 meters wing, and i’m WAG champion.

I’m very proud to be on the podium a second time with Laurent, and the small Alex who kicked the a.. of the 22 bests world pilots!

I’m also proud to have been part, as a pilot, to the great aérial family of the FAI. We show here to a large audience, that paramotor can be incisive, fast, precise… And gives a high image of the soft wings.

It’s time for us to pack all the stuff, and take the United Kingdom direction the next week, for a competition, which will be rich in sport.
