  • Hiking Tahiti

From Makemo we have to get back to Tahiti and fulfill our agreement with the Lady K about going together to Tonga.
Our plan was to find a boat to cruise with. Unfortunately none of the boats we met could take us there.

    Cerro Gaital

Each country of my travel must be linked to a mountain ascension and to a paragliding flight for keeping my theme.
Panama has absolutely no paragliding site in the whole country. Having looked for hours on the Internet, I find out there is no such activity here and nor any pilot at all.

    Volcanoes valley

Objective Quito, here again we are on a tight schedule.
Nadège gets her plane back to France in a few days. We will do everything to get on time by bike.

    Speed flying on Cerro Blanco

The highest sand dune in the world is right in front of us, overlooking Nazca.
El Cerro Blanco is up to 2200m of heights, 1500m of pure sand slope, a dream of a playground.

    From Cusco to Nazca

Everyone who has been to Peru knows Cusco. Especially for Macchu Picchu I’d say.

    Sébastien

Here he is the hero of the mountains.
We love his bike, too small for him; he bought it here in Peru. Now he comes for 3 weeks of quite a hard road throughout south Peru.
Trouble is, we are now quite on schedule, I cannot miss the departure season for sailboats in Panama.

    Flying Titicaca

In the morning, we climb up the hill, at the antennas; this is where local pilots fly usually. No one is there today, we will be the only ones to get in the air.
Nadège tries and tries again to take off, unsuccessfully. She gives up next to a nearly crash in the rocks.

    El lago Titicaca

Our way North leads us on a way passing the famous Lake Titicaca. It’s another name there would be nothing to laugh about for boring people, but as life has anything really serious to talk about, let’s laugh, it’s a good name of a lake!

    Flying volcano Colo Colo

Leaving the Salar, we cross towards Salinas, giving a last hug to Geoffray and getting at the bottom of the Volcano Colo Colo.
Out of the fact the name of it gives me a good laugh, one of its foot-hills appeals me a lot to fly it.
We are still on the boarder of the salar and [...]

    The Volcano Tunupa

Climbing the volcano at night make me think of the Licancabour and others mountains I climbed intending to fly them down.
Bad luck again, strong north wind at the top, although the wind was absolutely calm the previous days.
However the mountain is surprisingly beautiful! Reds, whites, so many colours paint the rocks.
