  • A Few Highlights From Our Site

Felix and his FLX.2 in ChamonixOur Website is pretty big, and with so much info it can be hard to navigate. At the  moment we are working on a new look and navigation system for the site, which won’t be live anytime soon but will be well worth the wait, we think. Hopefully we’ll all have to do a bit less clicking through a format that’s even easier on the eyes.

Until then, I’d like to point out a few of the spots on our website where interesting stuff can be found. If you’ve made it all the way to this blog and are reading this, then you’ve probably taken the time to find most of these links yourself, but just in case here they are.

We have some classy new 2009 Brochures for each of our glider divisions:

    Paragliders

    Speed Wings

    Paramotor

The Ozone Video Library contains a lot of videos for download, from every discipline. Some are short and homemade, others are rather professional. Check them out.

A few of our most active team pilots are here on this blog, but if you want to see who else is flying for us, check out the Team Pages.

We are devoted to building the safest, funnest wings possible to pilots around the world, and we hope that you use them to fulfill your dreams of flight and travel. Adventure is what we love.

We’re still adding and updating this page, like all pages, but if you still haven’t seen or gotten your hands on Ozone gear, then check here.

And finally, if you still don’t have enough flying toys and you want to get stoked on kitesurfing, then don’t forget that we’re passionate about producing the highest quality kites that can be found, anywhere.

As always, we’re keen to hear your feedback on anything, including our site, so let us know what’s missing and what you’d like to see.

    Cheers from all the Team.

2009 Is Still Coming, But 2009 Designs Are Here!

For the past few months we have been working on a fresh color scheme for 2009 and beyond, which will update just about every wing in our range next year. This is in addition to some entirely new wings that we are working on.

The Addict 2 in Snow\'s Canyon, Utah.

Getting the new colors and patterns decided and put into production was a huge amount of work… it’s hard to imagine how much really, unless you can witness the struggle… ;-) but we’re quite happy with the end result and we hope that you agree that it’s an improvement.

The Addict 2, Rush 2, and Buzz Z, all showing the 2009 colors and design.

Once we had the designs and colors all changed and chosen on our computer screens, we put them into production and waited eagerly for their arrival from our factory. (Our design team is in constant contact with the factory, where it takes only a few days to create new patterns and complete a new prototype once we upload the design files). Once they arrived, it was off to the American Desert to capture some images of the new wings!

Matt Gerdes, Carson Klein (New Team Pilot), Cade Palmer (new Team Pilot), Loren Cox (Our Graphic Designer and Photographer), and John James (Logistics, support) all loaded up Carson’s truck and rallied down to Southern Utah to find some new landscapes to showcase the new designs. In classic Ozone style, we headed into the desert with a keen sense of adventure and a massive amount of camera equipment, and the knowledge that too much planning can deter a true adventure. By the end of the trip we had flown our gliders under and through Corona Arch in Moab, hucked our speed flying wings into the Grand Canyon in Arizona (and subsequently hiked out), and pioneered a few more creative launches around the Southwest US.

I’ve uploaded some of the photos here (more below) and you’ll be seeing more appear shortly in magazines around the world and very soon in our 2009 Paragliders Brochure, which will be available for download before the end of the year.

Cheers from Matt and All the Team!
